Prepare

## Ingredients

- **1** loaf of bread, such as French bread or Italian bread
- **1/2 cup** 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- **4 cloves** of garlic, minced
- **2 tbsp** fresh parsley, finely chopped
- **2 cups** shredded cheese (e.g., mozzarella, cheddar, or a combination)
- Salt and pepper, to taste

Cook

## Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Using a sharp serrated knife, make horizontal and vertical cuts into the bread, creating a grid-like pattern of square or rectangular pieces. Make sure not to cut all the way through the bread, leaving the bottom intact.

3. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Using a pastry brush or spoon, generously brush the garlic butter mixture into the cuts and over the top of the bread, making sure to get it between the slices.

4. Stuff the shredded cheese into the cuts, ensuring each piece of bread is well-coated with cheese.

5. Wrap the bread loosely in aluminum foil, leaving the top exposed. Place the bread on the prepared baking sheet or dish. Bake the bread in the preheated oven for about 8 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is golden and crispy on the outside.

6. Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve it warm and enjoy by pulling apart the individual cheesy and garlicky pieces.

## Chef's Tips & Notes

- Toast bread in a dry skillet or under a broiler for a more even, golden crust than a standard toaster can deliver — a simple upgrade with big results.
- Rub a halved garlic clove over warm toasted bread for an instant burst of flavor — this classic European technique adds incredible depth with almost zero effort.
- Assemble toppings just before serving to keep bread crisp. If preparing ahead, store wet and dry components separately until the last moment.

### What is cheesy garlic pull apart bread made of?

Cheesy Garlic Pull-Apart Bread consists of the following ingredients:

1. Bread: A loaf of bread, such as French bread or Italian bread, is commonly used for pull-apart bread. The bread is typically sliced or cut into individual pieces while still remaining connected at the bottom.
2. Garlic Butter: A mixture of melted butter and minced garlic is often used to infuse the bread with a rich garlic flavor. Additional herbs or seasonings like parsley, oregano, or thyme may be added to the garlic butter for extra taste.
3. Cheese: Various types of cheese can be used, depending on personal preference. Mozzarella, cheddar, Parmesan, or a combination of cheeses are popular choices. The cheese is usually shredded or grated and sprinkled over the bread.
4. Optional Ingredients: Some recipes may incorporate additional ingredients for added flavor. This can include herbs like rosemary or basil, spices like paprika or red pepper flakes.

### Substitutions & Variations

As a personal chef who specializes in dietary accommodations, I always encourage my clients to adapt recipes to their individual needs. Here are some practical variations for this recipe:

- **Gluten-Free:** Swap regular flour, breadcrumbs, or pasta for their certified gluten-free alternatives. Almond flour, gluten-free panko, or rice-based pasta work beautifully and maintain a very similar texture.
- **Dairy-Free:** Replace cheese with a high-quality plant-based alternative such as cashew cheese or nutritional yeast. For cream-based elements, coconut cream or oat cream are excellent substitutes that maintain richness and body.

### Frequently Asked Questions

****How should I store leftover Cheesy Garlic Pull-Apart Bread?****

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. Make sure the dish is completely cooled before refrigerating to maintain the best texture and flavor.

****Can I make Cheesy Garlic Pull-Apart Bread ahead of time?****

Absolutely! You can prepare many of the components in advance and store them separately in the refrigerator. Assemble or finish cooking when ready to serve. This is a fantastic time-saving strategy for busy weeknights or meal prep.

****What is the best way to reheat Cheesy Garlic Pull-Apart Bread?****

For the best results, reheat gently in the oven at 325°F (165°C) until warmed through, or use a skillet over medium-low heat. Avoid the microwave when possible, as it can make the texture uneven. Add a splash of water or broth if the dish looks dry.

****Can I double this recipe for a larger group?****

Absolutely! This recipe scales up beautifully. Simply double all the ingredients and adjust the cooking vessel size as needed. Keep in mind that cooking times may increase slightly for larger batches.
